Questions before you buy? Ask us; we'll help you pick. Veteran-owned in Sacramento.

Fits: the Tektro HD-E3520 hydraulic brake found on most Aventon e-bikes (the caliper says Tektro): Abound, Abound SR and Abound LR; Aventure 2 and 3; Level 2, and Level 3 bikes with Tektro brakes; Pace 500 (all versions) and Pace 4. Also fits the Velotric Discover 2.

One set of genuine Tektro E10.11 resin pads, enough for one wheel. Order two sets to do the front and rear. Resin is the low-noise compound Aventon lists for this brake, and Aventon notes that pad compounds are not universally compatible, so these match what the bike came with.

How to install: our step-by-step guide for Aventon owners covers the front and rear, with photos from our own Abound.

Check your caliper first if you have: an original Aventure or Level (some shipped with Bengal brakes), a Level 3 (some have Magura brakes), or a Pace 5 or Level 4 (these use a different Tektro brake). Email a photo of your brake caliper to support@breaktimebicycle.com and we will tell you before you order.

Before you buy: replace pads when they are down to about 1 mm of material or you hear grinding. You will need 5 mm and 6 mm hex keys, and an 18 mm wrench to remove the wheels on an Abound. If your brake lever feels soft or sinks toward the bar, that is a bleed, not a pad problem; take it to a shop. Ships from us in Sacramento. Discount codes don't apply to Tektro products.

Quick answers

  • Which Aventon models does this fit? Bikes with the Tektro HD-E3520 brake: Abound, Abound SR and LR; Aventure 2 and 3; Level 2 and Level 3 with Tektro brakes; Pace 500 and Pace 4. Also the Velotric Discover 2. Not sure? Send us a photo of the caliper.
  • How many sets do I need? One set does one wheel. Order two for front and rear.
  • Can I switch to metallic pads? Aventon notes pad compounds are not universally compatible, so stay with resin on the rotor you have. A new rotor is the clean time to change compound.
  • When should I replace them? At about 1 mm of pad material left, or as soon as you hear grinding.

Why we carry it: "which pads fit my Aventon" is one of the most common questions e-bike riders ask, and this is the answer for most of them. Loaded e-bikes go through pads faster than regular bikes, so it is worth keeping a spare set.

Not sure this fits your ride? Ask before you order: support@breaktimebicycle.com. We'd rather answer an email than process a return.
