A thick synthetic oil chain lube built to reduce wear rather than chase the last watt. SILCA says an e-bike chain sees more than twice the internal pressure of a regular bike chain, and that Synerg-E has nearly double the oil film strength of its Synergetic lube to cope with it. The trade, by SILCA's own numbers, is about half a watt of efficiency. SILCA claims up to 10,000 miles from one bottle. No PFAS or fluorinated chemicals.

Before you buy: this matters most on a mid-drive e-bike, where the motor's power goes through the chain. On a hub-drive e-bike (most Aventon and Rad models) the chain only carries your legs, and a lighter all-round lube such as Wolf Tooth WT-1 does the job. Drip it on, wipe off the excess, and keep it away from brake rotors and pads.
Why we carry it: a mid-drive chain and cassette cost far more than a bottle of lube, and this is the one made for that load.
