Fits: a 6-bolt hub that takes a 203 mm rotor, with a brake made for 1.8 mm rotors. On the Abound SR and Abound LR, Aventon lists a 203 mm 6-bolt rear rotor, so this is the rear rotor for those bikes. Before you buy: check the size stamped on your current rotor; 203 means this one. For a 180 mm rotor, see the Tektro TR-52.
A TRP RS02M rotor, 203 mm across and 1.8 mm thick, one piece, with an anti-corrosion treatment and built-in wear indicators. TRP says the design reduces vibrations and improves consistency. Six T25 Torx rotor bolts are included. One rotor, enough for one wheel. We'll keep it on the shelf in Sacramento. Percentage discount codes don't apply to TRP and Tektro products.
When to replace: TRP's wear indicators mark a minimum thickness of 1.4 mm for this rotor. The Tektro and TRP rotor manual also says to replace a rotor for an uneven braking surface, or for a bend that you or a bike shop cannot correct, and to replace the pads AND the rotor if they are contaminated.
How to install: the manual has you bolt the rotor to the hub with its six T25 bolts, using a T25 Torx wrench and a torque wrench, and gives 4 to 6 Nm for the rotor bolts; Aventon specs 5 to 7 Nm on the Abound. Our squeaky or weak brakes guide covers when it's the rotor.
